In order to carry out individual tasks in a more structured and targeted manner, some subject areas are assigned to an AStA department. This department deals specifically with a topic and reports to the AStA on its work.

The AStA departments are appointed at the constituent meeting. Not only elected AStA members can become AStA officers. Every student can get involved and become active in a department. If necessary, new departments can be created at any time.

If you would like to join the AStA or learn more about our work, feel free to contact us (asta@uni-hohenheim.de) or visit our weekly meetings.

The AStA Managing Student Body Association is the official representation of all students at the University of Hohenheim, in the face of the public as well as at the university level. Its tasks include the coordination of work between different departments, the implementation of guidelines established by the Student Parliament, and compliance with resolutions made by the Student Parliament. Within AStA the Managing Student Body Association is responsible for the orderly procedure of day-to-day business and the employees of AStA.

The Chief Financial Officers manage the finances of the VS, which are generated by a share of your tuition fees. The preparation of the budgets, in which budgets and costs of, among others, the lecture notes office and TMS are clarified, is also one of the responsibilities of the unit. In addition, we advise on questions regarding financial applications from student groups.

As the Department of Political Education, our task is to enable students to engage with political and social issues. In doing so, we contribute to strengthening democratic values as well as networking among students. Our aim is to arouse interest in politics while promoting political education and thereby offering everyone the option of expanding their knowledge.

From the "Welcome home" Party every semester to the „VS-Mini seminar“ and the AStA Helfer*innenfest.

As the Department of eventmanagement, we take care of internal events, which are initiated by the AStA. With these offers, we want to inform, enrich the everyday life of the university, or just say "thank you".

We always have an open ear for ideas and suggestions. You can reach us by e-mail.

As external consultants we represent the student matters and interests beyond the borders of our own university. The main taskes focuses around state, whereby we try to represent the interests of the students of the University of Hohenheim in the best possible way.

In all topics we are in constant contact with the other student bodies of Baden-Württemberg. Networking and exchange takes primarily place in the monthly meetings of the 'state-students bodies association-conference' (dt. Landes-ASten Konferenz, LAK).

Aims:

Representation of the student Hohenheim interests in the introduction of the federaö semester ticket.

Advancing the constitution of the 'state student council' (dt. Landesstudierendenvertretung).

Continuing the fight against the already introduced study fees for international students and those who want to enroll for a second degree.

We are pleased about every motivated  person who wants to support us in the many and sometimes also spontaneous tasks and challenges.

All students should be able to inform themselves with relative ease about the events at their university. The department for public relations is tasked with communicating resolutions, projects, and events to the student body. For this purpose the following channels will be used:

The Online Courier reports independently about university processes, which includes the work of Student Body Association. On occasion AStA might publish guest articles.

Kurz gemeldet

Here AStA and VS publish organisational information, such as application deadlines for Quality Insurance Funds (QSM).

Hohenheimer Veranstaltungskalender

AStA meetings and talks as well as events organized by AStA will be communicated here.

Facebook & Instagram

Our Facebook & Instagram pages provide a brief overview about the most important occurrences, relevant Online-Courier articles, and upcoming events.

Goals:

  • Improvement of the existing program
  • Organization of tournaments
  • Strengthen the sense of community

If you have an idea, please do not hesitate to notify us as all input regarding planning and organization is appreciated. We are happy to welcome any suggestions and assistance!
