Here you'll find the basics about the student groups.
Requirements
- The group pursues charitable objectives.
- The minimum size of a group is seven active members.
- At least five of the active members must be enrolled at the University of Hohenheim, and 80 per cent of the active members must be enrolled at higher education institutions in Stuttgart.
- The student group must be genuinely open to all enrolled students. Each active member has the right to vote and to stand for election.
- The focus of the group’s activities – particularly in the case of regular meetings – must be on campus and within the university.
- Sustainability – the group must exist for at least two semesters.
- The group’s interests must be consistent with the objectives of the University of Hohenheim as set out in
- Sections 2–4 of the Higher Education Act (LHG) and with the democratic principles of the Federal Republic of Germany, in particular Articles 1–3 of the Basic Law (GG).
Registration & Re-Registration
The basis for registration is fulfilment of the criteria set out in ‘Registration as a Student Group’. The ‘Application for Registration’ can then be submitted. It goes without saying that this must be completed in full and correctly. The AStA will decide on this application at a meeting. For new groups, it may be useful to attend the meeting when this item is on the agenda in order to outline the group’s aims and tasks and to answer any questions that may arise. This can significantly speed up and simplify the approval process. To retain this status, you must re-register annually for the summer term. The ‘Re-registration’ form must be used for this purpose. This annual re-registration serves to verify both the group’s activity and its continued fulfilment of the requirements for retaining this status.
