Here you'll find the basics of the StuPa.
Tasks
Within the student body, the Student Parliament (StuPa) performs the following tasks:
- Passing resolutions on cross-faculty matters concerning the student body
- Electing and overseeing members of the General Students' Committee (AStA)
- Approving and overseeing the budget, as well as voting on budget expenditures exceeding €2,000
- Determining student body fees
- Appointing one advisory member each to the Senate and the various faculty councils
- Appointing student members to the Quality Assurance Funds Commission (QSMK) and voting on the use of student quality assurance funds based on proposals submitted by the QSMK
- Enacting, amending, and suspending the statutes and regulations of the student body
Organisation
The Student Parliament (StuPa) consists of 20 voting members: four elected student members of the Senate and 16 directly elected members. In addition, each student representative body (Fachschaft) sends one non-voting advisory member. The StuPa is elected annually and, for that term, elects a presidium from among its members, consisting of a President and two deputies.
StuPa meetings take place once a month during the semester and are open to the public.
QSM-Commission
The QSMK is a working group of the Student Parliament (StuPa). All applications for student quality assurance funds are deliberated within the Quality Assurance Commission (QSMK). The QSMK develops a proposal regarding the use of these student quality assurance funds, which is then put to a vote in the Student Parliament.
The commission consists of three members from each faculty. Two of these members are nominated by the student representative bodies (Fachschaften) and confirmed by the Student Parliament, while the third is elected from among the members of the Student Parliament and the General Students' Committee (AStA).
